Social Psychology
Social Psychology is a major subfield of Psychology involved in the study of how social dynamics affect people individually. Psychologists who specialize in Social Psychology are called social psychologists. Some of their research interests include the perception and interpretation of the social world; the influence of real or imagined presence of others to one's personal beliefs, emotions, and behaviors; group behavior; and, social relationships.
Social Psychology originated from Gestalt Psychology, particularly the application of gestalt principles in the analysis of social relationships.
Social psychologists collaborated with cognitive psychologists and neuroscientists to develop the interdisciplinary field of Social Cognitive Neuroscience.
